'Fill a space in a beautiful way'

On a recent trip to our splendid coastline and inspired by an extraordinary driftwood hut we found there, I spontaniously attempted to weave my first bowl out of..hmmm...'sea twine' for want of any greater botanical knowledge of my chosen medium!
With a bit of a hand-juggle, trial + error and patience, these beautiful bowls emerged!
I LOVE them!
The twisted, endless texture nesting the rough + rythmical twine (gift from a precious friend)...well, they fill my space in a beautiful way!

Now this sudden burst of creativity I cannot take any credit for! My husband ultimately got sick of staring at a barren vege patch and planted up a storm and it is to his credit that we are reaping a bumper winter harvest!
Creativity in the garden is a wonderful outlet for children, particularly in our mild Brisbane winter! There are some exceptional books available to get you inspired, I will gather some we love and post here soon!
These burgening gardens are a wonderful place to gather natural treasures for making - seeds, grasses, etc...you might even like to hide your handmade 'fungi forest' among the leaves...just in case fairy's come to visit, you know!

These textures are inspiring me very much as the days get a little shorter and cooler. My girls can't get enough of fingerknitting, making anyone who show's interrest (a mama-inspired) necklace or two! This beautiful black one has just been completed by my 7yr old!
Last year it was knitting, this year it is crochet! Resisting 'digs' from family and friends who think I am 'just getting old!' I am contentedly carting my growing scarf-roll to every event!
I just can't resist the feel and beauty of natural wool between my fingers and the slow, comforting work with my hands.
These sweet garlands hang elegantly from a willow branch in my home - inspiration for the recent Easter Art Workshops. Their beautiful balance of colour and texture please me.
